Ethanol, high fructose corn syrup, speculators, home lending bust, nuclear energy, and world hunger.
All of these may be interconnected in a unique way. The connection may be subtle, indirect, and happenstance or it may be a grand scheme purposefully concocted and shaped by powerful people seeking world domination. The unique interconnection I am suggesting moves away from thinking of them as isolated events and looks at them as outcomes derived from conflicts being played out between polarized world views. Put very simply, events related to subjects in the title are the product of past and present human interaction in the world, the intended & unintended consequences of human interaction, and the focus phenomena which drives further human interaction. As media & politicos call upon super delegates (dressed in primary colors) to declare what side they are on (early preparation of the generalized campaign of choosing sides), I call upon you to declare your thoughts on what is meaningful to you. Keep it real, keep it short, and keep it specific. For example; I feel gardens are ideal intentional learning environments where people learn through concrete experience thus enabling for better conceptual understanding of food & fiber systems. I feel growing plants and animals connects people with the environment in a fundamentally different way than any other experience. I also feel agriculture mirrors society and reflects the human condition. In reflecting society, I feel agriculture can be viewed through a positive lens where its glimmering facets can be sought to seek solutions to problems we face locally and globally. Please share some of your thoughts!
